Job summary

Bolton Council is seeking a SEND Assessment Officer to co-ordinate Education, Health and Care (EHC) Assessments and issue or amend EHC Plans in line with the Children and Families Act 2014 and related regulations. The role includes attending annual reviews and sourcing suitable school placements, working with families, schools and partner agencies.

The successful candidate will have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification (or substantial SEND experience) and strong communication and ICT skills

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification and/or significant experience of working within the SEND arena (education, health or social care).
• Experience liaising with parents/carers, schools and other agencies across education, health and social care.
• Strong communication and good ICT skills.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate Education, Health and Care (EHC) Assessments and issue/amend EHC Plans.
• Attend annual reviews and source school placements as needed.
• Advise parents, young people and professionals on EHC needs assessment procedures and ensure information is prepared meeting statutory requirements.
