Job summary

West Sussex County Council is seeking a SEND Officer within the SEN Assessment Team (SENAT) to coordinate Education, Health and Care Needs assessments and annual reviews. You will support families, providers, and partner agencies while ensuring statutory processes are followed.

The role focuses on administrative duties related to EHCPs; there is no direct work with children. The position offers a permanent contract, 37 hours per week, and is based at County Hall, Chichester.

Qualifications

• Experience working with families, schools or external agencies in SEN is desirable.
• Ability to communicate sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work flexibly within statutory timescales and processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Education, Health and Care Needs (EHC) assessments and annual reviews.
• Ensure statutory processes and timescales are followed for EHCPs.
• Provide guidance to families, early years providers, schools and external agencies.
