Job summary

Bury College is advertising a full-time SEND Advisory Tutor to support learners across all provision types, including 16-18, High Needs, Adults and apprentices across campuses. The role sits within the ALS Team and focuses on planning, implementing and reviewing support for learners with SEND and EHCPs.

The successful applicant will liaise with course teams, share best practice, and help ensure every learner has an inclusive college experience and reaches their potential.

Qualifications

• Experience in post-16 setting, planning and delivering additional learning support covering English, Maths, ESOL, SLDD, SpLD, MLD.
• Proven background of working with young adults with additional needs, target-setting and recording progress.
• Hold a specialist qualification for teaching students with learning difficulties or disabilities / Level 7 SPLD (not essential).
• Educated to degree level or equivalent and hold a full teaching qualification or recognised teaching status (or working towards).
• Experience of working with Education and Health Care Plan guidelines and using the RARPA process.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and review support for learners across curriculum areas.
• Identify and employ effective support strategies for students with additional needs and EHCPs.
• Liaise with course teams regarding learners with additional needs and EHCPs to support teachers.
