UNDERSTANDING THE SPECIFIC ROLE

You will work in a dedicated 1:1 role supporting a pupil with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities (SEND). This may include working closely with pupils with a range of needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and physical or communication difficulties.

Your role will involve supporting learning across the curriculum, particularly in core areas such as English and Maths, as well as delivering personalised interventions and adapting tasks to meet individual needs. This may include using visual timetables, sensory strategies, communication tools and structured routines to support engagement and independence.

You will also support pupils’ emotional wellbeing through regulation strategies, provide pastoral and personal care where needed, and contribute to creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
