Job summary

Beaford Community Primary & Nursery School is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND TA to support a child with SEND, working closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to enable full participation in lessons.

This fixed term role (30 hours per week, 08:45am-3:30pm with breaks) runs until approx 31/08/2028. Training and ongoing support will tailor provision from the EHCP to promote learning, confidence and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting a child with SEND in a classroom setting.
• Ability to implement EHCP provisions and tailor learning support.
• Support developing independence, self-esteem and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with SEND in lessons.
• Build a positive relationship with the child and encourage independence.
• Deliver tailored provision from the EHCP and monitor progress.
• Participate in in‑service training and work with the SENDCO and teacher.

Job Title: 1.1 SEND TA

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £13.91 (Grade C)

Hours Per Week: 30 (6 hours each day Monday to Friday - 08:45am-3:30pm with a 15 minute unpaid tea break and 30 minute unpaid lunch break included)

Status: Fixed Term (until approx. 31/08/2028)

Closing Date: 12 Noon on Thursday 1st October 2026

Interview Date: Wednesday 7th October 2026

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with SEND, helping them to overcome barriers to learning, access the curriculum and develop their confidence and independence. The role will involve implementing agreed provision identified within the child’s EHCP and providing tailored support for their learning, emotional regulation, self‑esteem, social inclusion and wellbeing.

A key part of the role will be building a positive and supportive relationship with the child, while encouraging them to develop increasing independence and participate fully in learning and wider school life. Appropriate in‑service training and ongoing support will be provided to enable the successful candidate to understand and respond effectively to the child’s individual needs.

This is a temporary position and is subject to the child’s continued attendance at the school and/or the outcome of any review of their special educational needs.
