Job summary

Haynes Lower School in England is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a child with SEND on a 1:1 basis. The role is 19.5 hours per week, term-time only with 5 training days, on a fixed-term contract from ASAP to 31 August 2027. The post operates on NJC Scale Level 3A.

The successful candidate will work Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 08:30–15:30 with a half-hour unpaid lunch, supporting literacy, numeracy, emotional well-being and inclusive learning in a nurturing classroom.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND is essential.
• Ability to adapt teaching materials to different learning styles.
• Willingness to work 1:1 and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to children in Literacy, Numeracy, Emotional Well-Being, or other subjects.
• Assist the classroom teacher with lesson planning and preparation; manage materials and resources.
• Create an engaging learning environment using creative strategies.
• Observe and support student well-being and report concerns to teachers.
• Promote positive classroom culture and smooth transitions between activities.
