Job summary

SWRAC is seeking a passionate SENCO to join our Widnes Centre, with responsibilities spanning strategic SEN policy, referrals, assessments, and coordinated support across centres. The role involves working with learners, families and external professionals to ensure tailored plans help every young person reach their potential.

The post requires NASENCO or NPQSENCO desirability, QTS, Level 2 English and maths, and a teaching qualification at Level 5 or above, with at least three years' SEND

Qualifications

• SEND experience: 3 years (required)
• NASENCO or NPQSENCO desirable
• QTS and Level 2 English & Maths
• Teaching qualification Level 5+ or above

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee SEN strategy and policy
• Make referrals to external professionals
• Carry out assessments to identify needs and monitor progress
• Develop individual support/learning plans with staff and families
• Attend and lead Team Around the Learner meetings
• Provide training to tutors and Learning Support Assistants
• Advise on resources for SEN provision
• Maintain accurate student records and data
• Conduct provision audits and annual reviews
• Deliver staff inset training
