The Governors at Shuttleworth College are seeking an exceptional, passionate and strategic Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our Extended Senior Leadership Team and lead our SEND provision across a vibrant and ambitious mainstream secondary school. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SENCO who is determined to ensure that every young person receives the support, challenge and opportunities they need to thrive. As a school with a significant number of students with SEND, inclusion sits at the heart of everything we do. We believe that all pupils can achieve highly when barriers to learning are identified and addressed, and we are committed to providing outstanding support for students with a wide range of needs. The SENCO will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven ability to inspire, motivate and develop both students and colleagues. They will model excellent teaching practice, champion high-quality adaptive teaching and contribute to raising standards for all learners across the school. The post includes a teaching commitment of approximately 6 hours per week, allowing the postholder to maintain a strong classroom presence while fulfilling their strategic leadership responsibilities.
