Plumstead Manor School in London is recruiting a dedicated SENCO to join our Current Director of SEN and lead inclusion across the school. You will work within a large SEND department and the Bridge resourced provision to meet undiagnosed needs, developing practice in line with Ofsted-driven inclusion priorities.
Ideally you are a qualified and experienced SENCO, but we would support a colleague on the journey to become one if you commit to undertake the training.
Plumstead Manor School is a thriving community school located in the heart of Plumstead Common. We are a school for everyone, and offer a warm, welcoming, and calm environment in which all young people are able to flourish and grow. Our vision is to offer Excellence for All, realised through four key values - pride, ambition, respect and togetherness.
Our recipe to achieve that is based on high-quality teaching and academic rigour, in a safe and happy environment. As our recent Ofsted inspection recognises that inclusion is at the heart of our school - and that our commitment to this, runs through every aspect of the way we work.
We are looking to appoint a new SENCO to join our Current Director of SEN (also a qualified and practising SENCO) in taking the school’s work around inclusion into its next phase. We have a large SEND Department as well as a resourced provision for young people with MLD named the ‘Bridge’, as well as a number of other provisions that we have put in place to meet the needs of young people - especially those with undiagnosed needs.
We can offer you a commitment to inclusion in the truest sense of the word, a calm and orderly learning environment and a programme of professional development opportunities that will ensure you get to keep your practice up to date, and also to further develop your skills. We are firmly committed to investing in our staff so that they develop professionally and our young people benefit from enhanced provision, and so they can progress further in their career and professional growth.
Given our recent Ofsted Inspection recognises the significant improvements that have taken place at the school, this is an exciting time to join our community. Ideally, we are looking for a qualified and experienced SENCO, but we would be interested in supporting a colleague in their journey to become a SENCO and if you commit to undertake the training. In order to do this you will already need to be a fully qualified teacher.
