Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking strong SEND Tutors in the City of London area for temporary roles. You will deliver 1:1 or small-group sessions to pupils with SEMH and ASD needs, across educational settings, libraries or the pupil’s home.

Responsibilities include building trusting relationships with families, differentiating the curriculum, and adapting to various environments while maintaining a safeguarding-focused approach.

Qualifications

  • SEN Tutor – HLTA, LSA or teacher qualification preferred.
  • Experience working with SEMH/SEN pupils.
  • Undergraduate degree or relevant SEND experience.
  • Good general education levels in English and Maths.
  • Knowledge or strong interest in SEND difficulties (SEMH, ASC).
  • Excellent KS3/KS4 curriculum knowledge.

TeacherActive is recruiting strong SEND Tutors in the City of London area.

Role Summary

Work on a one‑to‑one basis or in small groups with pupils who have SEMH and ASD needs. The role may be in educational settings, libraries, or the pupil’s home.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver 1:1 or small‑group sessions.
  • Work independently in the pupil’s home or other venues.
  • Build trusting relationships with children and families.
  • Differentiate curriculum creatively to meet individual needs.
  • Adapt to various working environments and students with differing abilities.
Qualifications
  • SEN Tutor – HLTA, LSA or teacher qualification preferred.
  • Experience working with SEMH/SEN pupils.
  • Undergraduate degree or relevant experience with SEND pupils.
  • Good general education levels in English and Maths.
  • Knowledge or strong interest in a range of learning difficulties and disabilities (SEMH, ASC, challenging behaviour).
  • Excellent KS3/KS4 curriculum knowledge.
  • Practical approach to students with learning difficulties and disabilities.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, and a caring attitude.
  • Flexibility with working patterns.
  • Strong safeguarding awareness; registration may involve an enhanced DBS check and ID checks.
