Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting for experienced SEN TAs to work within specialist SEND settings across Southwark in London. You may provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with autism, learning difficulties and complex needs.

The role involves helping pupils access learning, promoting communication and independence, and working closely with teachers and other professionals. DBS checks and safeguarding knowledge are important; PAYE payroll is used.

TeacherActive are recruiting for experienced SEN TAs to work within specialist SEND settings across Southwark.

We work with schools supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), communication needs, sensory needs and physical disabilities.

As an SEN TA, you may be required to provide 1:1 and small-group support, help pupils access learning, promote communication and independence, and work closely with teachers and other professionals to meet individual needs.

The successful SEN TA will have:

• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND
• A patient, caring and resilient approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Confidence supporting pupils with complex needs
• A good understanding of safeguarding
• Personal care experience would be beneficial
