Job summary

Academics is seeking an experienced SEN Tutor to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs across Camden. You will provide one-to-one and small-group tuition tailored to each learner's needs, with a pay rate of £40-£45 per hour.

You will plan lessons, monitor progress, and work with parents, schools and professionals to help learners build confidence and independence. Flexible tutoring opportunities and ongoing roles for experienced tutors are available.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Experience providing tutoring, teaching, mentoring or educational support.
  • A good understanding of Special Educational Needs and different learning requirements.
  • The ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learners.

£40 - £45 per hour

We are looking for experienced and dedicated SEN Tutors to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs across Camden

This is an excellent opportunity for passionate tutors who want to make a genuine difference to the educational development, confidence and wellbeing of young people.

You will provide one-to-one and/or small-group tuition, tailored to each learner's individual needs, abilities and learning objectives.

The Role

Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Experience providing tutoring, teaching, mentoring or educational support.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy and a positive approach.
  • The ability to build strong professional relationships with children and young people.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • A professional and reliable approach.
  • Experience supporting learners with additional needs would be advantageous.

This may include working with young people with Autism/ASC, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, moderate learning difficulties, complex learning needs or behavioural needs.

Experience supporting learners with anxiety, barriers to education, gaps in education or school refusal would also be beneficial.

What We Offer

We offer £40-£45.00 per hour, with tutoring opportunities available across Camden.
