Job summary

Academics is seeking an experienced Outreach Teacher to support children and young people with SEN across Camden. The role involves delivering personalised tuition on a one-to-one or small-group basis, tailored to each learner's needs and learning objectives.

You will plan and adapt lessons, monitor progress, and work with parents, carers, schools and other professionals to help learners build confidence, skills and independent learning. Salary £40-£45 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Experience tutoring/teaching/mentoring or educational support.
  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs and different learning requirements.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, empathetic and a positive approach.
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships with children and young people.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload.
  • Professional and reliable approach.
  • Experience supporting learners with additional needs would be advantageous.
  • Experience supporting learners with Autism/ASC, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, SEMH, complex learning needs or behavioural needs.
  • Experience supporting learners with anxiety, barriers to education, gaps in education or school refusal would also be beneficial.

We are looking for experienced and dedicated SEN Tutors to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs across Camden

This is an excellent opportunity for passionate tutors who want to make a genuine difference to the educational development, confidence and wellbeing of young people.

You will provide one-to-one and/or small-group tuition, tailored to each learner's individual needs, abilities and learning objectives.

The Role

We offer £40-£45.00 per hour, with tutoring opportunities available across Camden.
