Job summary

Academics is seeking an Outreach Teacher to deliver personalised tuition to children and young people with SEN in Camden. You will plan, adapt and deliver lessons, building confidence and academic skills while maintaining inclusive, supportive learning environments.

Ideal candidates have experience with SEN, strong communication, and the ability to work independently within flexible tutoring opportunities across Camden. Salary is paid hourly and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

Outreach Teacher
Camden
40 - 45 per hour

We are looking for experienced and dedicated SEN Tutors to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs across Camden

This is an excellent opportunity for passionate tutors who want to make a genuine difference to the educational development, confidence and wellbeing of young people.

You will provide one-to-one and/or small-group tuition, tailored to each learner's individual needs, abilities and learning objectives.

The Role
As an Outreach Teacher
  • Deliver engaging, personalised tuition to children and young people with SEN.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Experience providing tutoring, teaching, mentoring or educational support.
  • A good understanding of Special Educational Needs and different learning requirements.
  • The ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy and a positive approach.
  • The ability to build strong professional relationships with children and young people.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • A professional and reliable approach.

Experience supporting learners with additional needs would be advantageous.

This may include working with young people with Autism/ASC, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, moderate learning difficulties, complex learning needs or behavioural needs.

Experience supporting learners with anxiety, barriers to education, gaps in education or school refusal would also be beneficial.

What We Offer

We offer 40- 45.00 per hour, with tutoring opportunities available across Camden.
