Job summary

Tp-Tutors in Grays is seeking tutors to support pupils needing personalised education. You will deliver one-to-one tuition in Maths and English, or both, across learners with SEN/SEMH needs, in home, schools, libraries, or online.

The role requires calmness under pressure, adaptability, and clear communication with parents and professionals. Minimum 10-15 hours weekly, with flexible, weekly pay and access to CPD training.

Qualifications

• Minimum availability of 10–15 hours per week.
• Experience supporting learners with additional or high-level needs is highly desirable.
• Ability to build positive relationships and adapt sessions when students become disengaged.
• Confidence completing baseline assessments, attendance records, and detailed progress reports.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with parents, carers, schools, and professionals.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one tuition in Maths and English.

Are you a passionate tutor looking to make a genuine difference to young people who need tailored support?

We are currently recruiting tutors in the Grays area to work with pupils requiring personalised educational provision. Many learners may have SEN, SEMH needs, anxiety around education, or gaps in learning, so we are looking for tutors who are patient, flexible, and engaging. Available to start in the September term.

The Role

You will deliver one-to-one tuition in:

• Maths
• English
• Or both subjects

Tuition may take place:

• In the student’s home
• Within schools
• In public settings such as libraries
• Online

What We’re Looking For
