Job summary

Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd is seeking dedicated SEN Tutors to support children and young people across Bath and Bristol who require additional educational support beyond mainstream settings.

You will deliver tailored 1:1 or small group sessions designed around each learner's academic, emotional, and social needs, in settings including schools, community venues, family homes, or online where appropriate.

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification is required.
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Patient, child-centred and supportive approach.
  • Ability to engage learners who may be difficult to reach.
  • Experience adapting learning to individual needs.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering personalised 1:1 tuition sessions.

SEN Tutor Opportunities Across Bath & Bristol We are committed to ensuring every young person has access to an education that reflects their individual needs, strengths, and potential.

We are currently seeking dedicated SEN Tutors to support children and young people across Bath and Bristol who require additional educational support outside of mainstream settings.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work closely with learners who may have a range of additional needs, including:

  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance
  • Behavioural needs
  • Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) Many of the young people we support are unable to access traditional classroom environments and benefit from personalised, relationship-led learning approaches that help them re-engage with education.

As an SEN Tutor, you will deliver tailored 1:1 or small group sessions designed around each learner's academic, emotional, and social needs.

Sessions may take place in a variety of settings, including:

Schools
Community venues
Family homes
Alternative provisions
Online (where appropriate)

You will play a key role in helping learners rebuild confidence, increase engagement, and achieve meaningful educational progress.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs

  • Experience adapting learning to individual needs Desirable Experience:
  • SEND or SEMH settings
  • Alternative Provision or PRUs
  • Trauma-informed practice
  • Autism or behaviour support
  • Intervention tutoring or outreach mentoring
  • Emotional literacy or wellbeing support
