Job summary

Young Giants in Redhill, United Kingdom is seeking tutors to deliver bespoke 1:1 tuition sessions to learners with SEND, including Autism, ADHD and SEMH. Sessions occur during the day at learners' homes or local venues; you will teach KS3/KS4 Maths and English, plus other subjects based on your specialism, using engaging, tailored approaches.

We value safeguarding, require Enhanced DBS (Update Service), and travel to learner locations; flexible term-time work with potential for full-time hours,

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience teaching SEN learners.
• Up-to-date curriculum and subject knowledge.
• Ability to mentor and support each learner on their personal journey.
• Willingness to complete safeguarding training and Enhanced DBS checks.

The Role

You’ll use your relevant knowledge and experience to deliver bespoke 1:1 tuition sessions to our learners with SEND, including Autism, ADHD and SEMH.

Sessions will always take place during the day, according to fixed timetables, either in a learner’s home or local community venue.

More specifically, you will:

• Teach KS3 / KS4 Maths and English , plus additional subjects based on your specialism.
• Use creative, engaging educational approaches tailored to each learner’s interests.
• Build positive relationships and foster confidence in our learners.

About You

We’re looking for passionate tutors with the following qualifications, experience and skills:

• At least 2 years of experience teaching SEN learners
• Relevant and up-to-date curriculum and subject knowledge
• The ability to combine mentoring and academics, building trust and supporting each learneron their personal journey
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and a willingness to complete any mandatory training necessary in this area
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to obtain)
• Ability to travel to learner locations
• Dedication to making a long-term difference in our learners’ lives
• Compassion, patience and resilience
