Job summary

3 Dimensions School is seeking a dedicated SEN Tutor to join our Wadeford, Chard team. You’ll support learners with autism, SEMH, and other needs, building confidence and independence through personalised sessions.

Responsibilities include planning tailored sessions, tracking progress, and collaborating with a wider team to ensure inclusive, progressive learning. A full UK driving licence is required and start is October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEN needs, such as autism, SEMH, learning difficulties or communication needs.
• Patient and positive approach, recognising that every learner progresses differently.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust and work well with colleagues.
• Confident with planning and adapting learning to keep learners engaged.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and following policies and procedures.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

• Deliver tailored tuition: provide structured, engaging teaching that is adapted to learners’ educational, social and emotional needs.
• Plan and prepare personalised sessions: create learning activities based on EHCP outcomes and individual targets, while keeping the content accessible and motivating.
• Support communication and learning: use a range of teaching approaches to help learners make progress with literacy, numeracy, life skills and/or key subject areas.
• Track progress and celebrate achievement: monitor learners’ development, review goals regularly, and record progress in a clear and helpful way.
• Work alongside a wider team: collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent support, shared strategies and a joined-up approach.
• Promote wellbeing and safety: maintain a calm, respectful approach, ensuring learners feel supported, secure and valued.
