Job summary

Orchard Manor School is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher near King’s Lynn to join our specialist team. The role supports pupils aged 5–16 with complex needs, focusing on adapting learning and building relationships to help every pupil reach potential. 40 hours weekly, permanent contract, October 2026 start.

The position offers a salary up to £42,000 per year (experience-dependent) and requires QTS or equivalent with prior SEND experience. UK applicants only; DBS checks will apply.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Build positive relationships that help pupils feel safe, confident and ready to learn.
  • Create an inclusive classroom where every achievement is recognised and celebrated.
  • Develop and review personalised learning plans including IEPs and behaviour support strategies.
  • Monitor progress and identify next steps; celebrate milestones.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families and external professionals to provide exceptional support.
  • Promote positive behaviour through consistency, understanding and high expectations.
  • Safeguard the wellbeing of every pupil and help create a nurturing learning environment.

What you will bring

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in SEND provision.
  • Passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping every child succeed.
  • Creative, adaptable and able to tailor teaching to a range of learning needs.
  • An excellent communicator who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Committed to continuous professional development and delivering outstanding teaching.
  • Driving licence required.

About us

Orchard Manor School, part of Options Autism, is a brand-new specialist school opening near King's Lynn in Downham Market. The school will cater for up to 72 pupils aged 5 to 16 with a variety of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

Orchard Manor is an independent specialist school where the curriculum is thoughtfully designed around the specific needs of autistic learners and those with related needs. Education is supported by a fully integrated on-site clinical team, ensuring a holistic, person-centred approach to learning and wellbeing.
