3 Dimensions School is seeking a dedicated Horticulture Tutor to deliver engaging practical learning for SEND students. You’ll support secondary and post-16 learners, helping develop confidence, independence and employability through horticulture.

You will join a supportive multidisciplinary team, delivering accredited qualifications and tracking progress while creating meaningful learning opportunities aligned to individual goals. January 2027 start.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Horticulture or related subject required.
• Experience delivering accredited horticulture qualifications.
• Understanding of SEND and inclusive learning practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess qualifications such as ASDAN, AQA Unit Awards, NCFE or City & Guilds.
• Monitor progress and maintain assessment records.
• Develop and maintain horticulture learning areas and growing spaces.

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and inspiring Horticulture Tutor to deliver engaging, practical learning experiences for secondary and post-16 students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is an exciting opportunity to use horticulture as a powerful tool to develop confidence, independence, employability skills and wellbeing, while making a genuine difference to the lives of young people.

Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you'll create meaningful learning opportunities that help students achieve their individual goals and prepare for adulthood.

What will you be doing

• Deliver and assess accredited qualifications such as ASDAN, AQA Unit Awards, NCFE, City & Guilds or equivalent.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate assessment records.
• Develop and maintain horticulture learning areas and growing spaces.
• Build positive relationships with students using trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming approaches.

What you will bring

• A qualification in Horticulture, Land-Based Studies or a related subject.
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
• Experience within horticulture, gardening or a land-based environment.
• Experience teaching, training or supporting young people.
• Knowledge of vocational qualifications and assessment processes.
• Understanding of health and safety within horticultural settings.
• An awareness of SEND and inclusive learning practices.
• Driving licence is required
• Level 3 or higher qualification in Horticulture.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent).
• Experience working within a SEND or specialist educational setting.
• Knowledge of autism, ADHD, PDA, SEMH and trauma-informed practice.
• Experience delivering ASDAN, AQA Unit Awards, NCFE or City & Guilds qualifications.
• Experience supporting employability and Preparation for Adulthood pathways.
