Job summary

Norton College is seeking a passionate SEN Teacher to join our dedicated team at Norton College School in Tewkesbury. You will plan and deliver bespoke lessons for pupils with a range of SEN, including autism and complex needs, building confidence and resilience.

This permanent, full-time role is 37.5 hours per week, 8:30am-4:00pm, with a salary up to £45,000 depending on experience. October 2026 start. UK applicants only; DBS and safeguarding checks apply.

Qualifications

• Qualified with QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree required.
• Passionate about SEND education and committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
• Experienced in supporting children with additional needs, including Autism and complex profiles.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging, tailored lessons that meet individual learning needs.
• Adapting teaching approaches to support pupils with SEN, including autism and complex needs.
• Monitoring progress and developing IEPs and behaviour strategies.

What You'll Be Doing

Planning and delivering engaging, tailored lessons that meet individual learning needs.

Adapting teaching approaches to support pupils with a range of SEN, including Autism, learning difficulties and complex needs.

Monitoring, assessing and celebrating pupil progress, ensuring every learner reaches their potential.

Developing and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.

Creating a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel valued and supported.

Working closely with colleagues, families and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.

About You

• Qualified with QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree required.
• Passionate about SEND education and committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
• Experienced in supporting children and young people with additional needs, including Autism and complex learning profiles.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
• Creative and adaptable, able to tailor learning to suit individual strengths and needs.
• A strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
