Job summary

Outcomes First Group’s Bluebank School seeks a Therapies Assistant to support Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists for pupils with SEN. The role focuses on delivering tailored interventions and assisting in assessments under clinician supervision.

You will collaborate with education staff and families, contribute to communication profiles, placement planning, and oversee group sessions while observing practice and contributing to professional development.

Qualifications

• 5 x GCSE’s Grade C or above, including English.
• Evidence of relevant Post 16 education.
• Willingness to work towards further qualifications as required.
• Experience working as a therapy assistant or in a similar role would be advantageous.
• Experience of working within an educational setting would be advantageous.
• Skilled in working as part of a team.
• Knowledge and understanding of working with children and young people with SEN.
• Ability to carry out both 1:1 and group sessions under supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, complex, technical and clinically sensitive information to the specific client group, their carers and families and a wide range of professionals outside the service.
• Excellent organisational skills and experience completing administration tasks for a team would be advantageous.
• Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based assessments and interventions under supervision.
• Support creation of communication and sensory profiles and placement plans.
• Deliver a range of interventions tailored to pupils’ needs.
• Observe, co‑facilitate staff training and attend multi‑agency meetings.
• Contribute to ongoing service development and CPD opportunities.
