Job summary

Outcomes First Group is seeking a Therapies Assistant to join the team at Longdon Hall School in Staffordshire. The role focuses on supporting Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists to deliver tailored interventions for pupils with SEN.

You will work closely with education staff and families, supporting assessments, communication profiles, and placement plans. A proactive, team-oriented approach is essential, with ongoing professional development opportunities provided.

Qualifications

• Five GCSEs (C or above) including English.
• Evidence of relevant Post-16 education.
• Willingness to work towards further qualifications.
• Experience working as a therapy assistant would be advantageous.
• Experience of working within an educational setting would be advantageous.
• Skilled in working as part of a team.
• Knowledge and understanding of working with children and young people with SEN.
• Ability to carry out 1:1 and group sessions under supervision.
• Ability to communicate complex, technical and clinically sensitive information to clients, carers and professionals.
• Excellent organisational skills and administration experience would be advantageous.
• Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Support clinicians such as Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists in delivering assessments and interventions.
• Collaborate with education team to support pupils and families.
• Contribute to communication and sensory profiles and placement plans.
• Deliver a range of interventions under supervision of qualified clinicians.
• Attend multi-agency meetings and assist in service development.
• Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities.
