Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd is seeking an experienced SEND Care Support Worker/Teaching Assistant for a SEND school in Southwark. The role supports pupils aged 5-19 with varied SEND needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties and speech and language challenges.

The ideal candidate has care-based experience and is committed to long-term placement. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, moving and handling, and supporting learning development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young adults with learning difficulties or disabilities.
• Trained in moving and handling.
• Care based experience.
• Valid DBS registered with the online update service or willing to apply for a new one.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with learning development and care needs during school hours.
• Assist with personal care, moving and handling as required.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils and staff.
• Adhere to safeguarding procedures and complete DBS checks as needed.

• Based in Southwark
• Full-time

We are currently looking for an experienced SEND Care Support Worker/Teaching Assistant who is a dedicated and passionate individual looking for a long-term role in SEND school setting. Our school caters for children and young people from 5-19 years old with varied SEND needs such as Profound Multiple learning difficulties, Emotional and Behavioural difficulties, severe learning difficulties and speech and language communication difficulties.

The ideal candidate would have experience with care-based support, experience with personal care, feeding, moving, and handling is desirable. Your role as Care Support Worker will be to support pupils with their learning development and care needs while at school.

Job Responsibilities

• Experience supporting young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities
• Experience or willingness to assist with personal care
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively
• A valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new DBS
