Job summary

Reeson Education in Braintree, Essex is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school from September on a full-time basis. You will support students aged 16-19 with various additional learning needs in a specialist setting, assisting teachers and therapists to deliver engaging lessons.

The role requires patience, strong communication and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with young people is desirable.
• Experience within an SEN setting is welcomed but not essential.
• A patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• An interest in Special Educational Needs and education.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom assistance to students aged 16-19.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support.
• Help students develop communication, social and independent living skills.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Work alongside teachers, therapists and parents to promote student progress.
• Support students with personal care where required.
• Maintain a safe and structured learning environment.
