Job summary

Reeson Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant in Braintree for a full-time September start. You will support students aged 16-19 with a range of needs, delivering engaging lessons and helping develop essential life skills in a specialist setting.

Role involves classroom assistance, one-to-one and small-group support, and collaboration with teachers, therapists and parents to track progress.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with young people is desirable.
• Experience within an SEN setting is welcomed but not essential.
• Patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• An interest in Special Educational Needs and education.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom assistance to students with a range of SEN.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support.
• Help students develop communication, social and independent living skills.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Work alongside teachers, therapists and parents to promote student progress.
• Maintain a safe and structured learning environment.
