Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and ADHD at a mainstream school in Walton from September. This long-term, full-time role offers consistent daily support from experienced staff.

You will work closely with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral teams to implement effective strategies for engagement, emotional regulation and positive behaviour, with DBS in place or willing to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH and/or ADHD.
• Previous work in a school, SEND, youth work, mentoring or care setting.
• Calm, patient and resilient with a focus on consistency.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour using positive strategies.
• Available full-time from September for a long-term commitment.
• Has an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to pupils with SEMH and ADHD.
• Build strong, trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
• Support pupils inside and outside of the classroom.
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral teams to implement support plans.
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Support pupils with social interactions, learning activities and transitions throughout the school day.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to school staff.
