Job summary

Teach Now is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and ADHD in KS1/KS2 at a Merton primary school. The role focuses on one-to-one and small-group support to help children access learning, manage transitions and build self-regulation.

Candidates with SEMH/ADHD experience and safeguarding knowledge are preferred. Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply is required. The position starts September 2026 and offers a competitive daily rate.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH and ADHD.
• Experience in a primary school or SEN setting.
• Calm, confident and consistent approach to supporting behaviour.
• Good safeguarding and inclusive practice.
• Strong communication and ability to build trust with pupils.
• Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 TA or SEND training desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils across KS1/KS2 with SEMH/ADHD.
• Help pupils access classroom learning and manage transitions.
• Support emotional regulation and positive social interaction.
• Work with class teacher, SENCO and pastoral team.
• Contribute to progress observations and individual support planning.
