SEN Teaching Assistant (Supply or Long Term Contract)

Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking an experienced SEN teaching assistant for a school in Guildford on a day-to-day or long-term contracted basis until the end of the academic year, with potential for permanent role. You will work with students on autism and complex disabilities, including non-verbal communication, below age expectations. Working Hours: 9:30-3:30.

Salary: £88-£100 a day. DBS update service or willingness to pay is required.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C/4 or higher
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
• Enhanced DBS check for child and adult workforce or willingness to pay for one
• Prior experience (3-6 months) with children/youth, preferably SEN

Responsibilities

• Support students with autism, complex disabilities and non-verbal communication
• Assist in day-to-day classroom activities and routines
• Monitor progress and communicate with teaching staff and carers

Job description

Requirements & Qualifications

• Qualifications: GCSEs in English and Mathematics (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent standard). Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not necessary.
• Enhanced DBS check for child and adult workforce on the update service or willingness to pay for one.
• Prior experience (3-6 months minimum) working with children or young people, preferably within SEN.
• Strong communication skills, patience, emotional resilience, and a proactive approach.
