Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking an experienced SEN teaching assistant for a school based in Guildford on a day-to-day basis or a long-term contracted basis, with a potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

You will work with students with autism and complex disabilities who communicate non-verbally and are below age expectancy. Hours are 9:30-3:30, and the daily rate is £88-£100.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent). Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not necessary.
• Enhanced DBS check for child and adult workforce on the update service or willingness to pay for one.
• Prior experience (3-6 months minimum) with children or young people, preferably within SEN.
• Strong communication skills, patience, emotional resilience, and a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Support students with autism and complex disabilities that are operating below age expectancy.
• Assist with non-verbal communication and other needs of the learners.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to support learning and behaviour management.

Job description

We are searching for an experienced SEN teaching assistant to join our school based in Guildford on a day-to-day basis / long term contracted basis (until the end of the academic year with a possibility of switching to a permanent position for the right candidate).

In this role you will be working along students with autism, complex disabilities as well as non-verbal communication, who are operating below age expectancy.

Working Hours: 9:30-3:30

Salary: £88-£100 a day
