Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a compassionate Cover Teaching Assistant to join a close-knit SEN school team in Billingshurst. You will support pupils academically, emotionally and socially, alongside dedicated teachers, helping to create a safe and inclusive environment. Working hours are 9:00 to 15:30 with flexible ad hoc shifts.

Eligibility to work in the UK is required; sponsorship is not offered. Driving may be preferred due to the remote location.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work in the UK with no sponsorship.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.
• DBS update service or willingness to obtain one.
• 3–6 months of experience with students with special educational needs.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in an SEN setting to create a safe, inclusive environment.
• Assist pupils academically, emotionally and socially as directed by teachers.
• Contribute to safeguarding and well-being of students during lessons and activities.
• Assist with classroom routines and transitions during the school day.

Requirements:

Have full eligibility to work in the UK -

Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths GCSE.

3-6 months of proven experience working alongside students with special educational needs.
