Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Are you a sports coach passionate about making a difference in young lives?
GSL Education are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a background in sports coaching to join our proactive team in Ashford.

This role offers the opportunity to utilise your coaching skills to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), fostering their physical development and confidence through structured activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Incorporating physical education and sports activities into the curriculum to promote student engagement and well-being.
  • Providing individualised support to students with various SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Collaborating with educators and therapists to develop and implement personalised education plans (IEPs).
  • Fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment, encouraging student participation and physical activity.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress, contributing to ongoing assessments and support strategies.

Requirements:

  • Possesses a solid foundation in sports coaching, driven by a strong enthusiasm for physical education and nurturing student growth.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with children and young people, ideally within educational or coaching environments.
  • Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, fostering positive relationships with both students and colleagues.
  • Displays patience, empathy, and flexibility in supporting the varied needs of learners.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Fully prepared to complete enhanced background checks, in accordance with safeguarding requirements for working with children and vulnerable individuals.
  • Have anupdated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps)and anenhanced DBSregistered to theUpdate Service(or be willing to apply for one).
  • Earn £88.94 per day, reflecting the value we place on your expertise and dedication.
