Job summary

Polaris Community Batley is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support one pupil or a small group, assist the classroom teacher during lessons, and monitor progress to meet each pupil's needs in a safe, supportive environment.

The role emphasizes building positive relationships, supervising during non-classroom time, and contributing to individual education plans. DBS check will be completed for successful candidates.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at C grade or equivalent
• Sound IT skills for classroom tasks
• Previous experience as Teaching Assistant or similar role preferred

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group (≤6)
• Assist classroom teacher during lessons
• Report on pupil progress and liaise with staff
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time and trips
• Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation
• Set work and mark assignments where appropriate
• Build positive relationships to drive learning outcomes
