Polaris Community is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our secondary team at Ormston School in Leeds from April 2026. You will work with individual pupils or small groups, supporting lessons and tracking progress in a nurturing environment.

You should hold GCSEs in English and Maths (minimum grade C) and have strong IT skills. DBS check is required; prior TA experience is preferred. The role offers term-time full-time hours with benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• A strong basic education with GCSEs in English and Maths (minimum grade C).
• Desirable A-levels or equivalent qualifications.
• Sound IT skills and confidence with digital tools.

Responsabilités

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group (up to six).
• Support the classroom teacher during lessons.
• Report on pupil progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time and on activities.
• Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
• Set work where appropriate and mark tasks.
• Build positive relationships to drive learning outcomes.
