Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants for September starts in Wakefield across supportive primary schools. You will work 1:1 or in small groups to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them engage and regulate emotions under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo.

The ideal candidate is patient, calm, and passionate about helping young people progress. A degree in Psychology or Education is desirable, but no formal TA qualification is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, SEN, care, tutoring, sports coaching, etc.)
  • Patient, calm and resilient approach
  • Genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is desirable — but no formal TA qualifications are required.

Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 08:30-15:30 |

Milk Education is working with supportive primary schools across Leeds who are now recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants for September starts. If you're patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping young people with additional needs thrive, this is the ideal role for you.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs, learning delays)
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to build confidence, engagement, and emotional regulation
  • Help pupils manage routines, behaviour, and social interaction
