Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Swinton secondary school on a short or long-term basis. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN across KS3 and KS4, including ASC, ADHD and SEMH, working closely with teachers and the SEND team to support individual learning.

The role offers flexible full-time and part-time placements with pay up to £115 per day, a commitment to inclusion and wellbeing, and access to CPD via Milk Academy, safeguarding training

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach to supporting pupils.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school and SEND team.
• Genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting young people to reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN across KS3 and KS4.
• Supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH and moderate learning difficulties.
• Working closely with teachers and the SEND team to support individual learning and development.
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
• Adapting activities and providing additional support to help pupils access the curriculum.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Supporting pupils to remain engaged and focused during lessons.
