Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support secondary students with Autism and SEMH needs on a full-time basis. You will work 8.30am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday, providing 1:1 and small-group support to tailor lessons and promote engagement.

You will collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff, monitoring pupil progress and wellbeing while helping implement EHCPs and safeguarding policies. A DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting secondary students with SEN such as autism and SEMH.
• Relevant qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care, or Supporting Teaching and Learning are desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication and ability to build rapport with students.
• DBS check or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with SEN, particularly autism and SEMH needs.
• Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning styles.
• Support students with emotional regulation, behaviour management and social interaction in class and around school.
• Build positive relationships to encourage confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
• Implement EHCPs and behaviour support strategies effectively.
• Monitor and report student progress and wellbeing to staff.
