Job summary

Principal Education is seeking a confident SEN Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor in South East London. You will provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and SEMH, helping them engage and progress in the classroom.

You'll work closely with teachers to adapt lessons, monitor progress, and feedback to staff and parents. The role requires an enhanced DBS and strong communication, patience, and restorative approaches to behaviour.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with SEN or behavioural challenges.
  • Patience, empathy and proactive support for diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills; calm under pressure.

SEN Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor - South East London

We're seeking a confident SEN TA / Behaviour Mentor to join a dynamic South East SEN school. You'll work closely with students with special educational needs (SEN), providing tailored one-to-one and small-group support to help them engage, progress, and thrive in the classroom.

Key responsibilities:
  • Support pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and behavioural needs
  • Assist teachers in planning and adapting lessons to meet individual needs
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff and parents
Ideal candidate:
  • Experienced working with children with SEN or behavioural challenges
  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive in supporting diverse needs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and use restorative approaches
Requirements:
  • Must hold a valid enhanced DBS certificate
