Job summary

REESON Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for mainstream primary schools across Havering with an immediate start. The role involves supporting pupils individually and in small groups, reinforcing differentiated learning and working closely with teachers and the SENCO.

Qualifications

Previous SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant or SEND experience, or strong transferable experience in childcare, care, youth work or mentoring.
Confidence supporting additional needs while promoting independence.
Patient, adaptable and able to maintain clear professional boundaries.
Reliable safeguarding practice and professional communication.

Responsibilities

The SEN Teaching Assistant will support pupils individually and in small groups.
Reinforce differentiated learning and help pupils understand classroom instructions.
A SEN Teaching Assistant may support pupils with autism, ADHD, SLCN or learning difficulties where relevant.
Promote communication, emotional regulation and growing independence.
The SEN Teaching Assistant will follow EHCP targets and agreed strategies where applicable.
A SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to maintain consistent support.
