Qualifications

• Previous SEN Teaching Assistant or SEND experience.
• Strong transferable experience in childcare, care, youth work, mentoring, or similar.
• Confidence supporting additional needs while promoting independence.
• Patient and adaptable with professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually and in small groups.
• Reinforce differentiated learning and help pupils follow instructions.
• Support pupils with autism, ADHD, SLCN or learning difficulties where relevant.
• Promote communication, emotional regulation and growing independence.
• Follow EHCP targets and agreed strategies where applicable.
• Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to maintain consistent support.

Key Responsibilities

• The SEN Teaching Assistant will support pupils individually and in small groups.
• Reinforce differentiated learning and help pupils understand classroom instructions.
• A SEN Teaching Assistant may support pupils with autism, ADHD, SLCN or learning difficulties where relevant.
• Promote communication, emotional regulation and growing independence.
• The SEN Teaching Assistant will follow EHCP targets and agreed strategies where applicable.
• A SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to maintain consistent support.

What We're Looking For in a SEN Teaching Assistant

• Previous SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant or SEND experience, or strong transferable experience in childcare, care, youth work, mentoring or similar support work.
• Confidence supporting additional needs while promoting independence.
• Patient, adaptable and able to maintain clear professional boundaries.
• Reliable safeguarding practice and professional communication.
