Job summary

Empowering Learning is recruiting experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support a specialist school in the Saltburn area, working with pupils with PMLD and behaviours that challenge.

The role is full-time with immediate/ongoing start, offering a rewarding environment and support from the Empowering Learning team to help pupils reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in education, care or support settings.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to obtain.
• Provide last 2 years of work history with professional references.
• References must be provided using professional email addresses.

SEN Teaching Assistant - PMLD & Behaviour

Location: Saltburn Area

Pay Rate: £93 - £115 per day

Hours: Full-time

Start Date: Immediate / Ongoing

Empowering Learning is working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in the Saltburn area to recruit experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their supportive team.

We are looking for candidates with experience supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and/or behaviours that challenge.

The ideal candidate will be:

• Experienced working with children or young people in an educational, care, or support setting
• Confident supporting pupils with PMLD and complex needs
• Experienced in managing and responding appropriately to behaviours that challenge
• Calm, patient and supportive, even in challenging situations
• Resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils
• Reliable, committed and able to work full-time
• Passionate about supporting children with additional needs to reach their potential
• A strong team player with excellent communication skills

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children is essential
• Ability to provide the last 2 years of work history and professional references
• References must be provided using professional email addresses
• Must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to purchase an Enhanced DBS
• A genuine passion for working within specialist education and supporting pupils with additional needs
