Job summary

Supply Desk Ltd in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in PMLD to join a nurturing and inclusive setting for children with profound and multiple learning difficulties aged 2-19. You will work under a teacher in a team committed to helping every child reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with SEND
• Good knowledge of SEN and passion to develop
• Able to manage challenging behaviour positively
• Able to commit to fixed days full or part time and to commute to the Hemel Hempstead area
• Has a clear and valid DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
• Able to assist pupils/ students with personal care

Supply desk is pleased to be working with a special needs school in the Hemel Hempstead area that prides itself on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for children with SEND allowing for them to succeed to the best of their ability no matter what challenges they may face. The pupils and students have severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and supports children from the ages of 2-19. The school has excellent facilities and access to a range of resources to provide a rich and stimulating environment for the children.

Applicants with previous experience as an SEND Teaching Assistant (main stream or special needs schools) are also welcomed. You will be responsible for working with children and supporting their complex needs as part of a team of TA s alongside a teacher in a rich and stimulating environment in this SEN school for children with profound and multiple learning difficulties and disabilities (PMLD).

The role will require the following responsibilities;
