Job summary

Empowering Learning is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Saltburn-based specialist school. You will support pupils with PMLD and complex needs, manage challenging behaviours, and work full-time in a dedicated team.

Immediate start with ongoing opportunities and the chance to make a meaningful impact. Candidates should have prior experience with children, an Enhanced DBS (Update Service) or willingness to obtain one, and be able to provide two years of work history and

SEN Teaching Assistant - PMLD & Behaviour

Location: Saltburn Area
Pay Rate: 93 - 115 per day
Hours: Full-time
Start Date: Immediate / Ongoing

Empowering Learning is working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in the Saltburn area to recruit experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their supportive team.

We are looking for candidates with experience supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and/or behaviours that challenge.

The ideal candidate will be:
  • Experienced working with children or young people in an educational, care, or support setting
  • Confident supporting pupils with PMLD and complex needs
  • Experienced in managing and responding appropriately to behaviours that challenge
  • Calm, patient and supportive, even in challenging situations
  • Resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Reliable, committed and able to work full-time
  • Passionate about supporting children with additional needs to reach their potential
  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills
