Academics in Hoddesdon is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with additional needs on a permanent, full-time basis. You will deliver 1:1 and small-group support, work closely with teaching staff to aid pupils’ access to learning, independence, and confidence in a nurturing environment.

The role requires a patient, caring approach, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to individual needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
• Experience providing 1:1 or small-group support.
• A patient, caring and consistent approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to remain calm and professional when situations become challenging.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils within classroom-based learning and wider school activities.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
