Job summary

Academics is recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant in Hemel Hempstead to join a well-established specialist setting working across two sites. The role involves providing 1:1 and small-group support, assisting pupils with learning and development, and helping pupils build independence and confidence.

You will work closely with teachers and staff to create a safe, inclusive learning environment. The position is permanent with a salary of £21,000–£23,000 per year, working hours 8:00am–4:30pm.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable.
• Patient, calm and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support pupils with learning, communication and development.
• Help manage behaviour and promote positive engagement.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Work across two sites in Hemel Hempstead area.
