Smile Education is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school located in the WA2 area of Warrington. The school is well-regarded for its nurturing environment, strong community ethos, and commitment to helping every child thrive—especially those with additional needs.
We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children from EYFS to Year 2 who have special educational needs.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: WA2, Warrington
Start Date: Immediate
Pay: £83.40 – £100.00 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-Time

About the Role:
  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for children with a range of SEN, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social/emotional needs
    • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
    • Support pupils in accessing the curriculum, building independence, and developing confidence in the classroom
    • Contribute to a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
    • Use strategies to de-escalate behaviour and promote positive interactions
    • Monitor and record pupil progress and wellbeing

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience supporting children with SEN in an educational or care setting
    • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or health and social care is desirable
    • A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to working with young children
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills
    • A full enhanced DBS check registered on the update service (or willingness to apply through Smile Education)

Why Join Smile Education?
  • Transparent and competitive pay rates

    • Access to CPD and ongoing training
    • Dedicated support from your consultant
    • Opportunities to work in caring, inclusive, and well-led school communities
