GSL Education is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant in Ashford who can leverage their childcare experience in a school environment that values care, consistency, and connection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to students with SEN, assisting with academic tasks and fostering independence.
• Implement strategies to support social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Assist in preparing and adapting learning materials for individual needs.
• Support students with personal care needs, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
• Promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor progress and adjust support strategies.
• Ensure student safety and well-being in accordance with school policies and safeguarding procedures.

Requirements:

• Experience in nannying or childcare, with understanding of child development and individual needs.
• Experience with children with SEN is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and adaptability.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and hold an updated CV covering the last ten years.
• Possession of an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
