Graduate Opportunity – Psychology – Aspiring Mental Health Worker - Trauma – Woking

Are you a recent Psychology graduate interested in working with students who have diverse learning and behavioral needs? This role is within a trauma-informed school environment, making it ideal if that aligns with your interests and career goals.

The Opportunity:

This position is suitable for aspiring educational psychologists, youth justice workers, prison liaison officers, or behavior mentors. It offers valuable experience in a specialist school setting, working with SEMH needs, Autism, and students with moderate to complex needs requiring personal care support. The schools are matched to your skills, interests, and aspirations.

These schools serve some of the most vulnerable children and young people, and environments can be challenging. Summary:

• Supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs to access quality education and set objectives for their future.
• Collaborating with art, occupational, and speech and language therapists to implement holistic, restorative approaches to learning and behavior management.
• Using positive reinforcement and confidence-building techniques.
• Providing classroom support and 1:1 assistance outside of class.
• Access to excellent CPD from teachers and tutors, beneficial if planning to pursue an MSc.
• Working with like-minded Psychology graduates with similar goals.
• Salary: Up to £90 per day, with start dates ASAP or September 2024, hours from 8:30 am to 4:15 pm.
