Job description

ADHD & Trauma Learning Support Assistant (SEN School - KS3)
Location: Greenwich,South East London
Schedule: Monday to Friday Full-time Temp to Perm
Pay: 100 - 115 per day (depending on experience)
Key Stage: KS3 (ages 11-14)
Setting: SEN Unit within a mainstream school



About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive SEN unit within a secondary school in Greenwich. This rewarding role involves working closely with Key Stage 3 students who have ADHD, experience of trauma, and a range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity ideal for someone looking to make a lasting impact in the lives of young people while developing their career in SEN education.



Responsibilities:

  • Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with ADHD and trauma backgrounds

  • Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement in learning

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with students and staff

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SENCo

  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment



Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with ADHD, trauma, or SEMH needs (in education, care, or youth settings)

  • Strong behaviour management and emotional intelligence

  • A calm, compassionate, and consistent approach

  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable learners

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
