Job summary

Sprint Education Recruitment is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support children with SEND in Birmingham and surrounding areas. You don't need a teaching qualification; you need patience and willingness to learn how a child communicates and to build understanding over time.

The role involves 1:1 or small group support, adapting tasks, following plans, and working with therapists. Salary depends on experience; the agency offers weekly PAYE pay, training access, and long-term placements.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN or complex needs in an educational setting.
• Clear and calm communication in busy environments.
• Consistent, patient and supportive approach.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 or with small groups to support tailored learning.
• Adapt tasks and resources so a child can participate.
• Follow SENCO and staff plans for communication, learning and behaviour.
• Notice what helps or hinders and report back accurately.
• Support children through transitions, playtimes and less-structured times.
• Collaborate with therapists and specialists when involved.
